A Federação Alemã de Futebol (DFB) demitiu o ex-árbitro Hellmut Krug (foto), supervisor do recurso de árbitro de vídeo (VAR) no país, sob a acusação de favorecer seu time de coração, o Schalke 04. O caso teria acontecido no empate com o Wolfsburg, no fim de outubro, quando Krug marcou uma penalidade para o Schalke não assinalada pelo árbitro principal. Ele negou as acusações. "Como supervisor, não estou autorizado a influenciar ou anular as decisões dos assistentes de vídeos", afirmou. A entidade nomeou Lutz Michael Frohlich para assumir o cargo.
